This program celebrates Women’s History Month.  Four prominent, politically active, local women, Becky Smothers, Bernita Sims, Judy Mendenhall, and Mary Jarrell, will reminisce about women from their pasts who influenced their lives, and who helped guide them down the paths they have taken.

Get ready for the Easter Bunny! We’ll provide eggs you can dip in dyes made from plant material, like onionskins and blueberries. All ages welcome. $1 per egg. Free for members.  Drop-in.

“Tracing Quaker Genealogy” Gwen Erickson, librarian and archivist of the Friends Historical Collection at Guilford College, will discuss records of Quaker meetings in Randolph County, and manuscripts and publications relating to families in Central North Carolina   dating back to 1680.

Wool Carding & Spinning

Find out how the early Quaker settlers turned wool from their sheep into warm clothes for the winter.  Try your hand at carding wool and then watch our costumed interpreter spin it into thread.  All ages welcome.  FREE. Drop-in.

Noted author, social scientist and rail historian, Dr. Theodore Kornweibel will present a lecture on his new book, “Railroads in the African American Experience.” Sponsors of the event include the Greensboro NRHA Chapter with the Greensboro and High Point Historical museums and the Greensboro and High Point Public libraries.
